Fun in the Sun

Once again my family was off to the sand dunes for the easter holiday. We had tons of fun and lots of excitement this time around. #1. Well to start we arrived at the dunes last Wednesday, and as we got there my mom had realized that she had forgotten some groceries that we needed for out time out there. So the next day they were off into town buying things that we needed. We are lucky that Yuma is only about 30 minutes away. We rarely have to go into to town that soon, but we ended up having to. #2.Next, my dad was on his first sand rail ride of the whole trip and he came back with the back of the passenger seat melted, his tail light melted on the same side and the carborator burnt to a crisp. My dad's engine had caught on fire, but luckily my dad is smart and knew what to do to get it out in a quick manner. It scared him half to death though. It was pretty funny but scary at the same time. Good thing no one was with him. The next time he went on a ride he had a fire extinguisher taped to his rail. We all got a kick out of that. #3.The next order of buissness is again when all of our camp went out on a ride, my dad had came back with a bented tire rim and the rail my brother in law was driving had the tail pipe totally bent in half. My dad and Clay had a little accident, Clay got stuck in a rut, which is called a witches eye and my dad didn't see him and ran right into him. No one was hurt, but once again they had to spend the afternoon repairing it. #4. My other brother in law, Nate and his older daughter were on our twister ( a glorified go cart) and got stranded in the desert for at least an hour or more and all the sudden we see them walking up to camp out from the middle of no where. I guess they shut the twister off and could'nt get it started again, so they decided to walk back to camp. Poor Addisyn was in tears by the time they arrived. I would have been scared too. My BiL was able to show my dad where it was at and by the time they got there it started right up and drove it back. What a fiasco!! #5. Last but not least, all the adults in our camp had to play referee the whole time with the two 3 year olds neices that were with us. I'm sure they love each other but one always wanted what the other one had. We had to teach them a lot about sharing and not beating each other up. They are both cute, but talk about a big power trip with both of them together. Then we had a 9 month old who only wanted her mom. Poor Sarah, we helped her out with that one as much as we could. She is still adorable and did okay for the most part. Wow little girls can have an attitude. Most of the time it was hilarious. Good thing we had our little nephew Nolan who was pretty much the calmest one there. I didn't realize tel this trip that girls need to know how to chill. Anyway it was one eventful trip but it was a blast at the same time. I'm so glad that Sarah, Clay and their girls were able to go with us. It was fun to have half of the family with us. Can't wait to see what the next trip brings. It will be interesting. But I'm sure nothing can top that excitement in one trip.
